Auditing Policy

The Department of Psychology at the St. George Campus does not seek any revenue from auditors but also does not provide any documentation of attendance.  Since we do not provide a record of attendance, we also do not keep track of auditors.

Prospective auditors are advised to first obtain the approval of the instructor.  If permission is granted, auditors are not allowed to submit any assignments for grading or write any tests/exams.  Furthermore, only lecture-style courses are open to auditors as labs and seminar courses cannot be audited.

In some cases, there may not be enough space in the classroom to accommodate anymore than the actual number of students enrolled in a particular course.  Where classroom size is an issue, unfortunately instructors cannot take auditors.

Please note that this policy is departmentally-based and each department or Faculty at University of Toronto may handle things differently.
