Professor Anthony C. Ruocco is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Program in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Graduate Departments of Psychology and Psychological Clinical Science at the University of Toronto. He holds academic cross-appointments at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health and Hospital for Sick Children, and he is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Professor Ruocco's research focuses mainly on impulsivity in healthy individuals and people with mental illness, including studies of personality traits, cognitive abilities, and brain structure and function across the lifespan. His clinical research centres on symptom dimensions (e.g., impulsivity, suicidal thinking and behaviours) that cut across multiple diagnostic categories. He also studies specific diagnoses, especially depression and borderline personality disorder, including the effects of psychotherapy and brain stimulation on symptoms and brain function.
