More About Josanne:
Josanne Buchanan is a passionate youth technology and media researcher, children’s media consultant, children’s rights enthusiast, and developmental psychology doctoral researcher at OISE. She is committed to working across the private sector, public sector, and academia to develop content and systems that help youth and families to thrive in the digital age.
Josanne finds her passion and purpose in collaborating with leading children’s media companies and storytellers to create content that authentically represents, reaches, and inspires young viewers and users. She has worked with many established and emerging children’s media companies, including: Nickelodeon Animation, Dreamworks, Corus Entertainment, Disney, and more.
She has also conducted children's media research with the Children's Media Lab at TMU and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop.
Josanne is the founder of Screenspire: a digital wellness platform that informs screen-loving teens and young adults about vital tech and media topics that impact the world, so that they feel:
- inspired to take on viable tech and media careers
- equipped to contribute to world-changing tech and media projects; and
- capable of adopting digital wellness habits that enhance their lives
Josanne’s goal is to use her career to make digital flourishing a reality for youth everywhere.
